Thomas Jefferson Hathcoat   and Anna Berthena Roberts Hathcoat  had Andrew J. Hathcoat  in Abt 1850, Hamilton County, Tennessee. He was 6 months old on the 1850 census. He is 20 years old on the 1870 Lawrence County, Arkansas, census living with his Father and Mother. Living in Household of Widow Amy Holt in 1880 Census. No trace of him for 20 years until the 1900 census he was living with a J. Ratliff as a boarder on the 1900 Lawrence County, Arkansas. Family history thinks he may have killed a man in Lawrence County Ark and gone to CA. He just drops out of sight after the 1900 census.

Born in Arkansas in 1850 according to 1870 and 1880 Census. ARTIE CAMPBELL died 1880 when the twins were 1 year and 2 days old OR 2 years and 2 days old. (I heard the story both ways). JAMES POLK'S sister ANNA HATHCOAT and his first cousin JULIET ALPHALINE ROBERTS moved in to help with the children ANNA HATHCOAT married her first cousin MELVIN SOLOMON ROBERTS 1881. So JAMES and his cousin JULIET ALPHALINE ROBERTS married (W. Gene Hathcoat)

Elijah Conduit Turner  and Frances Chapman Turner  had Rebecca C. Turner   in 1850, Indiana. They had six children. I have the names of their children and most of the descendants from someone who did research on that family. (Laura Roberts Epps, April 30, 2002).

Johann Rudolf Lauterbach  , then age 30, and Cunigunda Kolb Lauterbach , then 28, had John George Lauterbach   on Wednesday, Feb 13, 1850, Trebgast, Oberfranken, Bavaria. 5:30 PM, Easy, alive. Midwife Gries. Moved to Lindau at age 7. Immigrated to America in 1869 at age 19. Homesteaded 2.5 miles E of Clearwater, Segwick County, Kansas. "This is from Aunt Nettie's note. She is suppose to have written this down as Grandpa Lauterbach told it to her: 'I was born in Trebgast, Germany. When seven years of age, moved to a village called Lindau. I had three brothers, George, Fredrick and Alberecht. My father's name was Rudolph. He died at the age of 42 years, born in 1818. Mother died at age 44 years, four years after my father died. When age 14, I learned the shoemakers trade for which I had to pay 25 guilders for learning three years, then got the sum of 1/2 guilder per week until 19 years old when I started to America. A guilder is equal to 40 cents in our money.' " First automobile in the Clearwater area was a red Haliday owned by John George. When he later bought a Ford Model T Coupe, he gave the red Haliday to son Charles. In January 1938, Charles Jr. drove the Haliday to the field where his airplane was parked. Charles Jr. crashed on take-off and was killed. The little car was left in the field for a couple of days, and many parts were stolen from it, presumibly to commerate the first air crash that any had seen. (From note written on photograph of the Haliday, in possession of AnaLisa Worden Bischoff, February 2003) It is my understanding that the car is still is a museum in Wichita, but I have not yet tried to locate it. Lived 91yr 4mon 5days. Also have notes that say he was born in Washington Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana. Martin homesteaded in the ÒRunÓ into Oklahoma Indian Teritory 22 April 1889. He claimed the Southeast Quarter of Section 34, Twp 16, Range 5, which is in Logan Township, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma. (T16N, R5W) This was approx 1 and 1/2 miles West and 1/2 miles North of the town of Downs. Downs was later moved 1/2 mile South and renamed Cashion, to be on the new CRI&P railroad. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific ran through Cashion going to Kingfisher to the West and Guthrie to the East.

Thomas Lippencott Winters  , then age 43, and Mary L. Dalson Winters   had Marshall Winters   on Thursday, Aug 28, 1851, Warsaw, Kosciusko County, Indiana. Twin of Martin Winters. Died of measles at 20 yr 11 mon 25 days. His Mother is buried nearby.

Jeremiah** Norton , then age 39, and LeViney Jane Pigg Norton , then 19, had Thomas D. Norton  on Thursday, Aug 28, 1851, Robeson County, North Carolina.

Thomas Isles McDannold , then age 25, and Mary Elizabeth Means McDannold , then 23, had John James McDannold  on Friday, Aug 29, 1851, Mount Sterling, Brown County, Illinois. John attended the common schools and a private school in Quincy; was graduated from the law department of the University of Iowa City inJune 1874. He was admitted to the bar of Illniois in September 1874 and commenced practice in Mount Sterling, Illinois. Appointed master in chancery for Brown County in 1886; reelected in November 1890 and served until October 2, 1892, when he resigned, having been nominated for Congress. He was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-third Congress (March 4, 1893 - March 3, 1895), was not a candidate for renomination in 1894. He served a term in the U. S. Congress and practiced law in Mt.Sterling & Chicago, IL. Census: 1880 Mt. Sterling, Brown Co., Illinois.

On Thursday, 16 Oct 1851, when he was 25, Willis Boatman   married Mary Ann Richardson  , age 18, Sangamon County, Illinois. They had seven children known to the author. Mary Ann was the daughter of Lewis Ball Richardson   and Mary Ann (Polly) Snow .

Nationwide: Yellow Fever

Thomas Jefferson Hathcoat   and Anna Berthena Roberts Hathcoat  had Araminta F. Hathcoat  in 1852/53, Arkansas. Or Arminda, and called Minnie. I don't know a lot about Aunt "Minnie." I was told one of the girls married a man by the name of Holder but he was mean to her so she came back home. But I found no record of this marriage. What I do know is that she had a daughter Julia Streta Magaline, born 1874. She was about 4 years old when her mother Arminda Hathcoat married Bartly Lawson. Arminda was 26 years old and Bartly was 80 years old, (another record says 83 years old). Arminda had two more children when she was married to Bartly Lawson: b--Bertha, born 1880 married Wyatt McNabb. c--Loss Andrew, born 1881, Boone County Arkansas, died 1965 Comanche Oklahoma .Loss Lawson's 2nd wife changed his name to "LOSSSON." I was told that Arminda remarried after Bartly died but was not married long. Her daughter Julia had married Alfred D. Winfield Stewart, in 1898, Eureka Springs, Arkansas, then had moved to Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Arminda went to Sallisaw to be with Julia for the birth of Julia's first child, got sick and died there. (W. Rice Ross Turner    and Wennie Emery Turner  had Elijah Turner   in 1852, Iowa. This Elijah may not have been the son of Rice, but of another sibling of Cynthia's and Rice's. None-the-less, he was a first cousin of Sarah Martin Winters, according to the back of a photograph, noted in Sarah's handwriting.

John Heathcoat  and Cassandra Unknown Heathcoat  had George Washington Hethcoatt  in 1852, Franklin County, Tennessee. George Washington and Laura Anne lived briefly in Tullahoma and Murfeesboro, Tennessee and then returned to Pierce City and then to Carthage, Missouri.

Louis Bryum Miller  and Mary Katherine Sappington Miller  had Mary Jane Miller   in 1852, Iowa. Cecil Roy is a decendent.

Mastain Stephens Ussery   and Lucinda Magby Turner Ussery   had Lucinda Ussery  in 1852, Turner's Point, Kaufman County, Texas.

Andrew James Carroll Roberts , then age 34, and Lucretia Ann Lawson Roberts , then 33, had Juliet Alphaline Roberts  on Monday, Mar 15, 1852, Bellefonte, Boone County, Arkansas. She was a first cousin to James K. Polk Hathcoat, whom she eventually married.

On Tuesday, 5 Oct 1852, when he was 23, James Martin    married Cynthia Turner   , age 19, Cynthiana, Posey County, Indiana, by Elder Louis Duncan. Witnesses were Elijah and Margaret M. Turner, (bride's parents), and by Nelson Martin. (Nelson Martin was probably father of James Martin). They had nine children known to the author. Cynthia was the daughter of Elijah V. Turner   and Margaret Miller   .

John Gist  died at age 61y 3m 29d on Saturday, Nov 13, 1852, White County, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Robinson Gist .

Willis Boatman  , then age 26, and Mary Ann Richardson Boatman  , then 19, had George Washington Boatman  on Thursday, Dec 30, 1852, Oregon.

Barney Hathcoat  and Vienna Morris Hathcoat  had Christopher Columbus Hathcoat  in 1853/54, Alabama. I have found information in Jackson County court house where Jasper and a brother, Christopher Columbus, morgaged land and cattle to make crops several times. (Dortha Heathcoat Gamel, 2002) John Wesley Hathcoat name is on the marriage licence of C.C., helping tie Thomas Jefferson and Barney together as brothers. (W. Gene Hathcoat, Dec 2001)

Helen said one was burned with hot water. She doesn't know if it fell into the hot water or it spilled on the child. She doesn't know what happened to the remaining child. In Aft Jan 1860 , (husband) Davis  married Maranda Turner . They had no children known to the author. Maranda was the dau
