Elise died in Hof, Saale Kreis, Germany, on 14 Sep 1955; she was 91. Her Occupation: Parior maid in Bad Berneck, Germany, in the Hotel Bube. Elise had 3 sons. Im not sure but I think they had all different fathers and Elise was not married. ((Birgit Straubinger, 31 May 2007) i. ii. iii. Elise Depser's parents are not presently known. They probably had four or five children. Two sons emigrated to the United States prior to World War I; possibly to the Chicago area.

Louis Alexander Richardson   and Mary E. Pence Richardson  had Louis Alexander Richardson  in 1904, Marine, Madison County, Illinois. In addition to the children listed above, my grandfather, Lewis Ball Richardson, and wife adopted a young boy by the name of Jesse Byron. Jesse was orphaned by events of the Civil War. He was one of many orphans brought North by railroad in freight cars for adoption by families in and around Springfield, Illinois. Jesse and his wife Lyde lived in Alton, Illinois, in the later years of their lives. It was through their efforts that my parents selected Alton the place for me to finish the last two years of my high school education. I attended Alton High School and worked in the summer vacation for an architect by the name of Maupin. (In a letter by Louis A. Richardson, Jr., February 16, 1980)

Later George moved to the Chicago, Illinois area. Listed on the ships manifest, page 629 line 21, directly following Georg, was Anna Gemmrich, age 17, German, from Auenstein, Germany, single female appearently traveling without family.

After retirement Mom and Day moved to Tahlequah OK for the remainder of their years. (Joe Gene Hathcoat, 12 May 2003) Mr Hathcoat was a Biology and Mathmatics teacher. In about 1954 he became the high school principal. After the Government closed the school, They moved about 6 miles north and across the KS & OK state line in to Arkansas City, KS where Mr Hathcoat taught at Cowley College. Chilocco Indian Agriculture and Trades (high) School was a boarding school for Indian students of at least a 1/4 Indian blood and from broken homes. The school looked like a small college campus and set in the middle of about 10,000 acres.The school was about 100 years old when it closed. Both Hathcoat and Parnell had a small (just a tad) amount of Indian blood. I have no idea what happened to the boys, except I heard Tommy has a college degree and is teaching high school in OK. I know that Mrs Hathcoat had a large Parnell clan at Muskogee CO and most likey they moved back there in abt 1973-76 after his retirement. By now, I would say the boys have buried their parents. Albina was married to Henry Spence for a period of time but they divorced without bearing any children. She died of heart failure at her farm home Southeast of Octavia, Nebraska. Albina had 6 children all of which were delivered at home with the assistance of a doctor. She developed type 2 diabetes late in her life. Samuel Turner Fox , then age 42, and Isabel Cassandra Deemer Fox , then 35, had Cynthianne Newman Fox   on Sunday, Jan 19, 1908, Stratford, Garvin County, Oklahoma. Cynthianne had a total of 7 children, all but three died. She died in the hospital in Talihina, Ok. from Tuberculosis. She was living in Hayworth, Ok. before going to the hospital. She was in the sanitorium hospital for about a year before she died. My mother, (as told by Dianne Allen, granddaughter of Newman), said she never saw her again after her dad put her mother in the sanitorium. She was buried in Sherwood, Ok. The grave site has no marker, only stones mark the grave as well as many other graves in the cemetery in McCurtain County. People could not afford to have gravestones. No one can identify her grave.

She was also choked. was caught driving away in her stolen car, which was recognized by police on night patrol. The burglar was blood covered when stopped, which led police to discover her body. Henry John Lauterbach  , then age 29, and Alma Pauline Grabenstein Lauterbach , then 26, had Helen Marion Lauterbach  on Monday, May 29, 1911, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Upstairs, at 6632 Cottage Grove Avenue. Excerpts from letters written by Helen in 1988: Albert and Helena bought a very large two story building, and ran a tavern and restaurant on the first floor, and a boarding house upstairs. I vividly recall Grandma telling me how very hard they worked, for many, many years, getting only four hours sleep a night, to make a success of the business. Grandma made quite a name for herself as a good cook and baker. This I heard from an elderly man I ran into years ago. Albert and Helena had two other children that are buried in another cemetery. Helena wanted to move them to Oak Woods but the cemetery officials didn't advise it. Helen said one was burned with hot water. She doesn't know if it fell into the hot water or it spilled on the child. She doesn't know what happened to the remaining child. My beloved Dad, Henry John, became a Chicago Fireman somewhere before his parents retired, and he married my dear Mother, Alma Grabenstein, on July 14, 1910. I was their first child, born May, 29, 1911 and named after my Grandmother. When I was 3 or 4, Grandpa began having a series of strokes, which pretty much left him in a wheelchair. I recall my mother perching me in his lap, and pushing the wheelchair on nice afternoons down to Washington Park, about six blocks away. At that time we lived at 6632 Cottage Grove Avenue, where I was born. My grandparents lived downstairs - we on the second floor. In July 1916, Grandpa had a heavier stroke, and kept telling my Mom to hurry with delivery of my brother - he just tried to live to see the new baby, but sad to say, he died on July 29, 1916. My brother, Clarence Henry, was born two weeks later- on August 15, 1916. He was named Clarence for my Uncle Julius' wife, Clara, nee Schmidt. Julius and Clara had only one son, Arthur, who married a Jeanne Altman. They had four children, Gloria, Ronald, Gerald, and Sue. (Helen Marion Lauterbach, in 1989 letters)

Charles Albert Lauterbach  , then age 27, and Minnie Mabel Herrington Lauterbach  , then 28, had Thelma Etta Lauterbach   on Friday, Jul 14, 1911. A personal note about my Aunt Thelma: She was one of my personal heroes growing up. I spent many happy weeks at their farm near Mayfield, Kansas as a child, and I loved her dearly. I admired her tremendous strength of character, her sense of fun and music (she could really pound out a tune on the old piano!), and the way she handled her duties as the wife of a farmer, including plowing the fields when the need arose! Whenever I need a boost in life calling on personal resources, I always think of Aunt Thelma, and try to imagine what she would do in my place. Text of article in the "Argonia Argosy", November 23, 1939, Page 1, Column 1: Miss Beryl Bland, South Haven was severely injured and John Roy, Oxford, was killed in an automobile accident Sunday morning. Miss Bland and Mr. Roy were to have been married Monday morning at the Catholic Church in Wellington. Miss Bland is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bland and a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bland, of north of town. The accident occurred on a Sedgwick County road, a half mile east and a mile south of Furley. Roy and Miss Bland had packed their things in his car Sunday and started from his home at Oxford to their new home. They were expecting to return to Oxford Sunday and then be married at Wellington Monday. Less than twelve miles from their destination, their car collided with one driven by Otto Eilert, 55, Furley, Kansas. Roy died in a Wichita hospital. Miss Bland and Eilert both suffered painful bruises and cuts. Roy was a native of Wichita and had resided in the Oxford community, where he was well known, for a number of years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Wellington. Besides his mother, Mrs. Ida Healy Roy, he is survived by one sister, Mary Catherine, and three brothers, Robert, Francis and Richard, all at home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Blessed Sacrament Church at Wichita. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery.

She was also a landlord and owned several homes in Calif. and was her own 'handyman' and worked on the houses herself. She was a exhibition dancer with Arthur Murry Dance Studio and had many, many exhibition dances. She loved to travel and went to Hawa'ii a few times on cruises. She was a tall woman with porcelain skin and 'apricot' colored hair. She was an accomplished seamstress and made all of her own ball gowns for her dances. She made doll clothes for my doll out of the scraps of her ball gown fabric and I accumulated a large wardrobe. Sadly, they were all lost in 1969 in a move. When she passed away, she had had a brain hemorrhage. She left a beautiful Nine-Patch quilt to my mother, who gave it to me, that was made for her in 1910-1913 by her aunt and namesake, Sarah E. First automobile in the Clearwater area was a red Haliday owned by John George Lauterbach. When he later baught a Ford Model T Coupe, he gave the red Haliday to son Charles. In January 1938, Charles Jr. drove the Haliday to the field where his airplane was parked. Charles Jr. crashed on take-off and later died. The little car was left in the field for a couple of days, and many parts were stolen from it, presumibly to commerate the first air crash that any had seen. (From note written on photograph of the Haliday, in posession of AnaLisa Worden Bischoff, February 2003) It is my understanding that the car is still is a museum in Wichita, but I have not tried to locate it. At that time we lived at 6632 Cottage Grove Avenue, where I was born. My grandparents lived downstairs - we on the second floor. In July 1916, Grandpa had a heavier stroke, and kept telling my Mom to hurry with delivery of my brother - he just tried to live to see the new baby, but sad to say, he died on July 29, 1916. My brother, Clarence Henry, was born two weeks later- on August 15, 1916. He was named Clarence for my Uncle Julius' wife, Clara, nee Schmidt. (Helen Marion Lauterbach, in 1989 letter)

She cared for her family there in what were at times primitive, trying, and sometimes politically dangerous conditions. And she prevailed.

Lauterbach, and sister, Barbara L. Beyreis. Jack graduated from Wichita East High School in 1939. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Jack served honorably in the Signal Corps of the United States Army in the Pacific Theater in World War II, and saw duty in Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was employed by Westinghouse, Brown and Root, and retired from Stone Webster, Inc. He was a member of the Society of Professional Engineers. Jack attended the Bammel Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. Jack is survived by his sisters, Virginia (Clay) Stovall of Waterford, CA; Patricia (Sam) Stith of Savannah, GA; Joanne (Tom) Miller of Little Rock, AR; and by his brother-in-law Ernie (Bonnie) Barrett of Manhattan, Kansas. Other survivors include his step-children and grandchildren, Yvonne (Scott) Robinson, Lisa Renee and Michael Scott Robinson, Jr.; Mark (Karen) Mayfield, Caroline Marie Mayfield and Trent Kyle McWhorter; and Amy (Jim) Clark, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There is a continuing mention among the Winters that some, especially the women, have second sight or fore vision. Betty Jean told me that she had the same dream three times before her first husband was killed in a plane crash. In her dreams she was attending a funeral, but didn't recognize the deceased person. She feared it might be a forewarning about her brother, Glen. Glen was a pilot flying missions in Europe at the time, during World War II. The night before her husband, John, crashed, he and Betty Jean had gone out to a movie in Dalhart in the January snow. As they were waiting on a bus to return to base, Betty notice a lose button on his jumper, and it came off in her hand. She said, "I'll keep this to remember you by." John went to flight duty that night. The next morning about 10 AM, a Captain arrived to tell Betty that John had died in a crash. A week later, at John's funeral in Pennsylvania, Betty recognized John's very disfigured face from her dreams. She said she had previously told only one sister of her dreams 58 years before.

My Grandmother Cassie Heathcoat wanted to go and she wanted my mother to drive the car of her son Collie Heathcoat, Mother did not want to drive this car because she was not use to it like she was her own car but Grandma Cassie insisted so Mother drove Collie's car. My brother W.L. Heathcoat was in the back seat with E.L. and Grandma Cassie was on the passenger side when they left the store. My brother W.L. said he remembered they were eating ice cream and E.L. was standing behind Grandma Cassie's seat. When they got to a hill with a curve at the top the car died and Mother was letting it roll as she tried to start it. Grandma Cassie opened the door on her side and said she was going to jump out but before she did any thing, the car rolled over into a ditch. When they got out of the car, the baby was caught half in and half out of the open door with the car lying on that side. My Mother said she could see his little feet and they moved. A truck was going by and had several men in it, they stopped and Mother tried to get them to lift the car off the baby but they said they couldn't lift it. Later one of the men told Mother that he was so sorry that they did not lift the car and he always wished they would have tried. The babys chest was crushed when they got him out and he was dead. My Mother,Maudie, was about 8 months pregant with me when this happen in July 1936 (Dortha Heathcoat Gamel, 2002)
