| Notes |
|
A great lady and widely loved. She was an accomplished pianist, swimmer and golfer. She was the pentultimate hostess, Mother, Mother-in-law, and Grandmother, and gave her children and grandchildren the most wonderful holiday memories possible. She was wise, compassionate, caring, and forgiving.
In 1946 the family moved with the two very young children to Venezuela, I believe first to the jungle oil fields near Jusepin, in Eastern Venezuela, and later to the capital city, Caracas. She cared for her family there in what were at times primitive, trying, and sometimes politically dangerous conditions. And she prevailed. |
