Father Christian Winters is not proven, but suspected by PLH.
He had one sister but didn't know her whereabouts. Parents died when he was small boy. He didn't know much about them. Penn Dutch (German) Ancestry. Mother's maiden name was Lippencott. Moved family to Nemaha County in 1859.
