| Anecdotes |
My mom told me that after the marriage with Georg Seiferth the children from the first marriage of Elisabeth were no longer of interest. No one in the new family seemed to take care for them. (As told to Birgit Straubinger by her mother Inge Depser Straubinger in August 2007).556
I was told that during harvest in 1922 everyone able was needed in the fields. Elisabeth was 67 and not feeling well, so her grandson, Adolf, not quite a year old, and another infant cousin were put in bed beside her, for her to watch over. Later that afternoon or evening, when family returned from the harvest, it was discovered that the two babies were on their own in bed, as Elisabeth had died. (As told to me by Birgit Straubinger, August 2007. PLH) |
