Notes
Nellie and Ira never had any children of their own, but they did rear the younger Steele children after their parents died in 1902.

In Oklahoma, (Great) Aunt Nellie was well loved by the nearby Winters and Lauterbach children. My mother often mentioned how they liked to stay with Aunt Nellie and Uncle Ira, and how Aunt Nellie would always fix them a jelly sandwich or have cookies whenever any of them walked the mile to their house.
