Mrs. McDannold came to this county with her parents when nine months old. The family came overland, it taking them more than two weeks to make the trip. They settled ten miles north of this city, where Mr.Dillon and his family engaged in farming for a short time. A few years later they removed to Pleasant Plains where Mr. Dillon conducted a tavern for a number of years. October 20, 1853, Miss Dillon was married to Reuben McDannold and the couple moved to this city where they have resided since.17 |
