years and 2 days old. (I heard the story both ways). JAMES POLK'S sister
ANNA HATHCOAT and his first cousin JULIET ALPHALINE ROBERTS moved in to
help with the children ANNA HATHCOAT married her first cousin MELVIN
SOLOMON ROBERTS 1881. So JAMES and his cousin JULIET ALPHALINE ROBERTS
married (W. Gene Hathcoat)101

His family moved from to Lawrence County, Arkansas, about 1855, and by 1880 to Boone County, Arkansas. Moved to Park Hill, Oklahoma, about 1895, along with brother William Carroll. Lived around NE Oklahoma until his death in 1935.33

CHARLES N. HATHCOAT son of JAMES POLK, or JOHN HATHCOAT son of WILLIAM C. HATHCOAT came to Indian Territory, (Oklahoma), before 1900, (I was told both ways,) which ever went back to Arkansas and told ever one how good it was out here. JAMES POLK traded his farm for a wagon and team and $40. The man never sent the $40 and JAMES never went back for it. WILLIAM, JAMES and two or three other familys came together to get rich in I.T. (Indian Territory), (did not get rich). JAMES died 1935 the same day that WILL ROGERS was killed. (W. Gene Hathcoat)101
