Called Jenny. Her mother was a Ford. Her mother died when she was small. Raised by Billy Seay on a farm near Memphis Tennessee. She had two brothers but never know what become of them or the farm. Names of Mahala's Bro./Sisters: There were two brothers and two sisters. Greenberry was bro. b1850; William Gibson b.1858; Nancy Ann b.1853; Mary Uraline b.1855. There is a W.R.White b.1824 listed who could a brother or father to them. My mother thought their father was John White, because her relatives always referred to John when talking about the family. Supposedly, Mahalia left family and when she returned her Bro. and Sisters were gone. She never heard from them again. She was raised by Uncle Billy Seay on a farm near Memphis. There is a Wm. B.Seay on 1850 census in Haywood Co. just north of Memhis. All of this info is (heresay) from other family members. |
